I think we are all born with the desire to try new things. How else would we learn to walk? And at some point school, work, colleagues, and even church and family press us into a mold that we did not select. People ask me why I choose Junk Sails, I tell them they lend themselves well to DIY construction and single handed sailing. It was time to build in some redundancy for our power steering system on the boat. Which actually has nothing to do with steering but is used by our variable pitch controlled propeller. And many thanks to Dan Sparks and Mark Sims.

There is no better way to learn about the world than going out into it. And if you really want to see the Caribbean then spend time with the people of the Caribbean. Tank a boat ride, do some sailing, diving, or fishing. And eat and drink where the locals eat and drink. You will not be disappointed.
