The decks are supported by bent angle iron to give them a slight curve and those are attached to the sides of the hull with braces.

The bad thing about bending angle iron is that it will bend sideways as well as the direction you are trying to bend it. So we used a hydraulic pipe bender and bent the angle a second time; every two feet, in order to remove the sideways bend.

Making it our own

One thing we really love about building our boat is that it will be ours. We don’t have to care about what someone else likes or doesn’t like, we can make it as we like. As an example, we added mermaid deck braces.
