Fuel tanks are in as well as all of the control cables, thanks to Ben who drove in from Florida. One more week and we should have her ready to go.
I’m really happy with the progress on Seeker’s tender. She is just unusual enough for my taste. I wish more people built boats, but I wish those that do build boats would do something a little more unusual more often. There is little to nothing to learn from building from stock plans. Don’t be afraid of picking up a piece of cardboard and start cutting and gluing until you have a model that you believe will suite your requirements. You do not have to be a naval architect to know that the water needs to stay outside. Go ahead and try it. –Doug
This is an amazing time we live in. Connected by live high resolution images, air liners, and ideas of human adventure and exploration this project has brought students as well as seasoned professionals together from across our planet. Our little boat and her especially her bigger sister have changed my life and opened my eyes to a wonderful world. I’m glad all of you have decided to come along. You might not be Lars who flew over from Norway for the second time to lend a hand, but just watching is supporting what we do and we appreciate it. Thank you. –Doug
Betsy is very excited about this.
Sorry for the bad edit Rhys. Here is the fixed version. If you like boat building by the people who plan to take these boats to sea, then check out this list. And if you are planning to build and ocean going boat please pick up a video camera and join us.

I will never call a boat unsinkable, but we can make it difficult. At the end of this video we also show some YouTubers Building Their Own Ocean Going Boats.

Aluminum Pipe Bending, Heat Bending, HTP Propulse 200 Aluminum Welding, Miller Spoolgun Aluminum Welding, Plasma Cutting and Saw Cutting Aluminum. Everything we love about working with steel but with no sparks. Josh Barton wanted practice welding aluminum so he came back in for ten days, and Greg Stein spent his weekend off from welding school to also get some aluminum time. And the Love Me Tender now has all of its big pieces firmly fused together.
We had a great time at our Love Me Tender Weldfest, the weekend of February 23, 2018. We were joined by YouTube’s Chucke2009, Stephen Cox, Peter Zila, and 42Fab as we fabricated the hull of our aluminum tender.
“42” (aka Richard Day) left us one of his great Weld-It-Yourself Rocket Stove kits and we wanted to pass this cool product on to one of our supporters. Buy it yourself and the cost of one of these kits is $45.00!
This kit comes complete with all the parts and instructions. All you need is a welder. (A grinder and file might also come in handy, along with some paint)
All you need to do to enter in the drawing is to purchase a product — ANY product — from our Junk Store this week (through March 9, 2018) and we’ll toss your name into a hat. If you win, we’ll ship the Rocket Stove to you at our cost.
Please note, that the FREE shipping option is only good in the continental USA. (This is way too heavy and expensive to ship overseas. You don’t wanna pay the postage and neither do we. )
We really appreciate your support and please, PLEASE, don’t buy anything if you can’t afford it. Just join us on Youtube or our Facebook group and be a part of The Boat the Internet Built. We’re glad you’re here.
We had a wonderful weekend. Chucke2009, Stephen Cox, 42Fab-Richard Day, and Peter ZILA and Heather along with a bunch more SV Seeker crew joined forces on a very rainy weekend and put together a 16 foot tender. We even opened the gate on Saturday afternoon and were joined by over 25 guest who visited, tried out welders, and toured the boat. This YouTube community is an amazing thing. There are so many talented people out there, who are willing to share there time and knowledge. If you want to lean welding and fabrication these guys are willing to give you their time.
