Schedules Kill

I have decided to withdraw Seeker from the current project with the Caribbean Cetacean Society (CCS).

Captain Charles Sade, my mentor, impressed one lesson upon me above all others:

“Schedules kill.”

As captain, I have both a legal and moral obligation to protect the safety of my crew and vessel. That responsibility is not negotiable, nor can it be subordinated to expedition schedules. That responsibility includes delays for weather, necessary maintenance and repairs, and ensuring the crew is adequately rested.

Seeker will continue forward with partners who share the conviction that no expedition schedule is more important than the safety of the people aboard. — Doug Jackson
