Battery Watering System, DeWalt Planer, Coal Tar Epoxy and the Nolan Door Latch

The torture test for our $400, DeWalt DW734 Planer has begun.  Eight hours and over 1,500 sq feet later it’s still going strong.  And we have not been kind to it.  We discovered that once the boards are planed on one side, we can take a 1/8 inch cut on 5 inch wide, damp, red cedar, running two boards side by side if we help push and pull them through.  And no, DeWalt does not pay us to torment their tools.

We can not help but love the folks that are supporting the construction of Seeker.  Volunteers like Max all the way from Australia,  Gerry with B & H Equipment Specialist, and VMAC of Canada who got us a killer deal on a very high quality multi-function power system, Brandon who drove our VMAC down from Chicago,  Blake at Single Source who supplies us with industrial PPG paint products, Dave, Shannon, and David our local refinery welders that have installed the dry exhaust system, Matthew at Alpine Power Systems helping with the batteries and teaching us eveything we needed to know about copper plates and conductivity in boats, and John who dropped by for a tour and left use with a sweet computer for our navigation system and other stocking sufferers.   And all of our supporters like you.  Whether you donate through our overpriced Junk Store, PayPal, Pateron, or just drop us some kind advice or a word of encouragement.  We appreciate it all.  Thank You! –Doug

Many thanks to Max who is up from down under. Max is not just a builder who knows welding and carpentry, but he is a off-shore racing sailor too.  And many thanks to you, our patrons. We took Max shopping today for wood working tools. Their is a new miter saw and surface planer at the boat yard.
