Scuba Compressor Engine and Heat

BetsySteel Boat

An update from Patience Camp. The weather suddenly got me thinking about heat on the boat so I started down that path, and also fired up that Chinese 10HP diesel and decided it looked good enough to go ahead and build in the exhaust for it. Today I flew out of snow in Oklahoma to sunshine in Florida. I suppose it’s a good idea if I learn something about sailing while waiting too.

VMAC Generator Head Replacement

BetsySteel Boat

VMAC Multifunction provides 8kw AC at 110, 220, and even 3 Phase / DC 12, 24, 36, 48 volt; 250 amps of welding current; 45 cfm of air, and 8 gallons per minute of hydraulic fluid off a pump on the PTO. Product support is also great, but I’m hoping we just got a lemon of a generator head, because nothing should die after just 20 hours. https://www.vmacair.com/product/multifunction-power-systems/multifunction-6-in-1-power-system/

In the news from Patience Camp: Many thanks to Brian Homes for the cabinet doors and drawers. And, the davit pullies and winch are working happily together too.

Compressor Motor – Part 1 – Soft Starter

BetsySteel Boat

We’ve run our Max-Air 90 off grid power, but it’s 7.5 hp Baldor L1509T motor struggles on our 10kw generator. So we try out a Stellar SR35 series, 52A, 110-240 VAC at 1-phase soft starter.
