anchor winch

A hydraulically powered spool on the forward deck to deploy and retrieve Seeker’s two bow anchors. It is part of the open-center hydraulic system that also powers other deck machinery.

Lessons

  • Measure Before Redesign Don't redesign because people think you're wrong. Redesign because reality proves you're wrong.
  • Reality Is the Final Judge Opinions don't float boats. Measurements do. Listen to everyone. Believe the evidence.
  • The Captain Owns the Consequences Leadership isn't about authority. It's about responsibility. If you're the one making the decisions, you own the outcomes.
  • Build What You Need If the tool doesn't exist, build it. If you can't afford it, build it. Or fine the path around it. Resourcefulness is often more valuable than resources.
