Wil Kinsey Actually there is a grease fitting to fill the prop shaft and propeller hub. That I keep full, but it does not move the pitch. That is done by the internal shaft moving fore and aft.

It's not even necessarily that much less efficient depending on the propeller shape. It doesn't look a whole lot different than just mounting the propeller the wrong way around
